Summary

Beyond simple development, I am a 20-year veteran Product Owner who has taken responsibility for the entire lifecycle of products from inception to completion, solving customer problems and creating business value.

For 15 years at Samsung Electronics, I led system optimization at the Android Framework and HAL levels, improving the user experience for a large number of users. In particular, I led IoT device projects as a Product Owner through two C-Lab internal ventures. I led the End-to-End process from product planning to hardware integration, software architecture, cloud connectivity, and business model validation, redefining the entire service cycle for an OEM tracker product and gaining experience in delivering tangible value to customers through On-Device AI technology.

I believe my strength lies in making technology solve real customer problems and ensuring that these solutions lead to business success. I am confident that my experience in analyzing complex problems with data, verifying hypotheses, and successfully launching and enhancing products with diverse teams aligns well with the Product Owner role at Toss.

  1. Principal Engineer · Samsung Electronics

    Leading Commercialization of New Pet Healthcare Business (Project Sirius)

    • Served as C-Lab Product Owner and Tech Lead, leading the project from its inception.
    • Spearheaded the development of pet behavior data collection and On-Device AI models (achieving over 90% accuracy in behavior recognition).
    • Led the full HW/SW/Cloud product lifecycle, from OEM tracker prototypes to app and service development.

    Automated Test Platform for Device System Performance (Project Cheetah)

    • Designed, developed, and implemented a comprehensive automated performance testing infrastructure based on actual devices.
    • Built automated testing including benchmarks and a proactive diagnostic system.
    • Adopted as the standard infrastructure within the System team, used in all Android projects, including flagships.

    Commercialization of Predictive Intelligent Memory Control

    • Designed a predictive memory control architecture based on app usage patterns and TPO, going beyond LMK/Swap mechanisms.
    • Minimized cold-start times for frequently used apps and reduced performance/power waste.
    • Commercialized and applied to the One UI memory management system.

    Media & Devices System App Development

    • Developed and commercialized an Android app from scratch for media control within and outside Galaxy devices.
    • Implemented end-to-end media control, from Bluetooth D2D to SmartThings Cloud D2C.
    • Successfully transitioned to become the standard One UI media control app, replacing the previous SmartThings Panel.

    Development of Galaxy Upcycling Platform

    • Executed an upcycling project to transform used smartphones into an OSHW environment.
    • Overcame legacy environments of older devices and created new IoT utilization value.
    • Received multiple environmental awards recognizing ESG impact.

    Commercialization of Intelligent Thermal and Power Control Framework

    • Designed a multi-sensor-based intelligent thermal and power control architecture.
    • Implemented three-dimensional control of DVFS, CPU Governor, and internal IPs focused on UX.
    • Adopted and commercialized as a standard system optimization solution for One UI (Android/Wear OS).

    Leading Company-wide DB (SQLite) Optimization

    • Oversaw company-wide DB performance and defect analysis, leading overseas research labs.
    • Significantly improved Preload app responsiveness by applying WAL mode and decoupling from AOSP dependencies.
    • Resolved data loss defects during sudden power-off situations at the engine level.
